Algae Air Purifier
Built with
Vodoraslo
An algae-powered air purifier brought from prototype to market.
A biotechnology product combining microalgae, air filtration, and product design into a compact home device. Developed with VODORASLO from early prototypes through manufacturing-ready revisions and on-demand micro-production.
Turning a scientific experiment into a manufacturable product.
VODORASLO started with a compelling idea: using photosynthesizing microalgae to improve indoor air quality while consuming significantly less energy than conventional air purifiers.
The challenge was transforming early experimental prototypes into a reliable consumer product that could be manufactured repeatedly, assembled efficiently, and maintained easily by end users.
Working closely with the founders, we helped evolve the system from an early alpha-stage concept into a production-ready device — balancing biology, electronics, manufacturability, and industrial design within the constraints of an early-stage startup.
Designed for iteration, built for production.
The development process focused on reducing complexity while improving reliability and scalability. We redesigned critical internal systems, developed custom electronics, optimized assembly workflows, and created in-house tooling for manufacturing the acrylic components efficiently.
The result was a product robust enough for customer deployment while remaining flexible for continuous iteration as the company gathered feedback from its first production runs.
From prototype to production pipeline.
We supported both product development and manufacturing infrastructure — helping VODORASLO move quickly through testing, refinement, and small-batch commercial production.
Product Development
Refinement of early prototypes into a market-ready consumer device
Industrial Design
Feature development, enclosure optimization, and usability improvements
Custom Electronics
PCB design for improved robustness, reliability, and assembly efficiency
Manufacturing Tooling
In-house tooling for affordable acrylic fabrication and repeatable production workflows

Assembly & Production Support
Small-batch production and iterative hardware improvements
A commercial bioreactor, ready for real customers.
The collaboration enabled VODORASLO to launch its first commercial production runs and establish a scalable manufacturing workflow aligned with the realities of an early-stage hardware company.
By combining rapid iteration, custom tooling, and on-demand production, the product could evolve continuously without requiring large inventory investments — allowing the team to focus on customer feedback, scientific optimization, and future larger-scale installations.
3x
production cost reduction from early prototype to market-ready product

first production units delivered to customers
3–4×
lower energy consumption compared to conventional air purifiers
Resonator helped us move quickly through cycles of testing and improvement until we reached a final product that was energy-efficient, well designed, and ready for micro-production. We went from concept to finished product in less than six months.
Beyond the technical support, they made us feel like we weren’t building it alone.
